Heuchera

Heuchera is one of our absolute favourites for year-round foliage colour. The leaves come in every shade from deep plum to burnt caramel to lime green — and they hold that colour through every season. We use them to weave warmth and contrast through borders where other plants have given up for winter.

There is a kind of serene, almost meditative beauty to a well-grown hosta. Those great, architectural leaves — ribbed, glaucous, sometimes edged in cream or gold — bring a calm elegance to shady spots that few other plants can match. They're the reason we never give up on a difficult corner.
